WHEN CAN WE START BOOKING FOR NEXT SEASON?
We begin booking for longer term stays (one week or more) starting February 1st. For those who want to book a shorter stay, we open those bookings early April.
CAN WE BRING OUR FUR BABIES CAMPING?
Absolutely! If however, you fur babe likes to bark a lot or has shown signs of any aggressive behaviour, we ask you not bring them camping with you. They will need to remain on leash while on our property and bring some bags to clean up after them. No more than 3 dogs are permitted in one site, unless you have received permission from us.
IS THERE CELL SERVICE AND/OR WIFI?
We have excellent cell service throughout the campground. Guests can access wifi at the Coffee & Treat Shack.
WHEN CAN WE CHECK-IN/ CHECK-OUT?
Guest can arrive anytime after 1 pm and depart before 11 am. If you would like an early check-in or late check-out, ask us and we can let you know if it is available. We ask that all guests are checked in by 8:00 pm.
CAN WE USE OUR GENERATOR?
We would prefer that generators are not used, however, if you have a super quiet generator, you can use it intermittently between 8 am and 8 pm. We do reserve the right to ask you to shut it off if it is taking away for our other guests relaxation time.
CAN WE COME OUT FOR THE DAY TO HANG OUT AT THE RIVER?
We no longer provide an option for day use day use. Sadly, too many disrespectful day use visitors last year ruined made us revisit this option. If you are coming to support the Coffee & Treat Shack, you are welcome to enjoy your treats on our property. Visitors of our campers are also welcome for an additional fee.
IS THE WATER DRINKABLE?
As we have a shallow well, we encourage our guests to use a water filter or bring drinkable water. Our water is high in manganese and iron. This is on our list to correct in the coming year.
IS THE RIVER SAFE TO SWIM IN? WHAT ABOUT FISHING?
Early in the season and during high water, we do not recommend swimming as the river is fast and there are strong currents. As the river begins to go down (often mid June), and warms up, the river is a bit more swimmable. With that, we encourage our guests (especially children) to wear a life jacket and stay in the shallow slow moving portions of the river.
We have many guests who enjoy fishing the Salmon River. You do need a BC Fishing License. We have guests who have caught Trout and Northern Pike Minnow.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
If you are cancelling a week from your check in date, there is a $25 cancellation fee. If you are cancelling within the week of your reservation, your deposit is non-refundable. If you no show for your booking, you will be charged for the entire stay. Any cancellations need to be sent by email to info@salmonvalleycampground.com.
CAN NON-CAMPERS USE THE BEACH FOR DAY USE?
If you are visiting the Treat Shack during the hours we are open, you are welcome to enjoy your treat on the beach or in our picnic area. We no longer offer day use due to a number of visitors who were not respectful of the beach, leaving garbage, broken glass and mindful of their pooches. Beach access from our property is for our campers and those enjoying a treat from the Treat Shack. Please note our Treat Shack hours.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any other questions.
